ACRYLIC YARN
Our acrylic high bulk yarn we source comes from a local supplier in the North West, who has a long trading history, over 30 years.
In the current acrylic colour range there are 144 shades, this is a stock service. A colour to suit every taste? The yarn count or thickness is 2/30’s. Also in the range there are 13 marl or tweed colours, these are 2 colours twisted together, which takes you knitted garments to another level. There are also 6 fluorescent colours for the more adventurous.
ACRYLIC SLUB
In the acrylic range there is a slub yarn, which is available in 12 colours. This yarn is allot thicker and is used on the more heavy gauges like 5 and 3. It is available in two sizes, NM1/7 and NM1/4.5. This gives an awesome thick chunky look to the finished product and a hand knitted texture, appearance.
BRIGHT ACRYLIC
We also have a bright acrylic, spun in a different way to create a shiny look. This is NM 2/28 count, better used on 7 and 10 gauge knitting machines. With 39 impressive colours, this yarn when knitted up give the finished product drape and a soft silky feel.
LAGUNA
This yarn is a brushed acrylic mix. The count or thickness is NM 7.5. The composition is 76% acrylic and 24% nylon. This give a mock angora look, knitted correctly, it produces a light weight airy look and feel that is second to none, very popular feminine yarn. With 78 colours in the range which includes 5 marls/tweeds and 3 fluorescent.
SUPER SOFT BOUCLE
To make bouclé, at least two strands are combined, with the tension on one strand being much looser than the other as it is being plied, with the loose strand forming the loops and the other strand as the anchor. So what you end up with is a plush effect, the count or thickness is NM 7.5 and composition is 80% acrylic and 20% nylon. It comes in 38 colours.
ACRYLIC / NYLON
With 36 colours in the range, this yarns composition is 80% acrylic and 20% nylon. Thickness of the yarn is NM 2/28. Suitable for most gauges, this yarn has a nylon hair in it, when this is knitted up it has a hairy like appearance, but when put through a brushing machines, it pulls the nylon fibres out to the surface, which in turn gives it a super soft feel and handle. A very much angora feel.
COTTON ACRYLIC
There is a fantastic range of cotton acrylics, with 96 shades in the collection, this yarn has a harsher feel to it and is more rigid but hard wearing. The thickness is NM 13.5/1. This yarn is suitable for all gauges from 3-10.
